The Bedford Police Department is asking citizens who live in the areas of Lee Street, Grove Street, North Street, and Park Street to please check their properties for anything missing or out of place.

We have received several reports from residents in those areas whose vehicles were broken into overnight on May 13, 2026.

Please also review any Ring camera footage or other surveillance devices for suspicious activity during the overnight hours. If you notice anything suspicious or discover items missing from your property or vehicle, contact the Bedford Police Department at 540-587-6011.

SCAM WARNING...
These scammers are at it again. Many citizens are getting this via text message and phone calls.
They sound official and even includes court information.
Police Departments nor Sheriff's Office's will call or text you saying you have a warrant or ask for money. They may try to scare you or demand the money. Don't take their attitude sitting down!!
Never use the phone number that they call from. Google the agency and get the correct number to call and check for yourself.
Neve scan unknown QR codes unless you are POSITIVE it's from a good source.
Do not provide your personal or financial information.
You earned your money, Don't let them take it away.
Help us spread the word to protect our community.
If you have given money to one of these scams, please call us to file a report and then call your bank immediately.
