When you are dealing with a difficult and trying situation that involves legal matters, you need to know your rights. You need to know what your options are in order to address your particular issue. Many legal matters can be very traumatic, whether you are dealing with a criminal matter, dealing with the death of a loved one, you are ending a marriage, or you are having to fight for your kids. Th
ese issues can leave you dreadful, full of anxiety, and completely overwhelmed. You can relieve those feelings to a degree just by understanding the steps which must be taken. It is important to know what you need to do early in any legal matter. The consequences of not knowing can be severe and can include incarceration and additional charges, a judgment being taken against you without your knowledge if you fail to answer a lawsuit, and other deprivations of your rights. There are laws and rules which govern when you can, cannot, or must address almost any given matter. Even if you aren't ready to hire an attorney yet, it is important to speak with one. I always encourage prospective clients to speak with several attorneys. Every attorney has a different style in communicating with clients and you should choose an attorney who you are not only comfortable with, but who also has thouroughly informed you of your options and potential outcomes. Remember to always discuss everytjing regarding a matter with your attorney, especially facts which may not be in your favor. You may hope it doesn't come up in a hearing. However, if it does you want to be sure your attorney is prepared to deal with the matter and address it without surprise. Unfortunately, this is an all too common mistake. Always remember your attorney is not there to judge you, but to advocate for you. If I choose to accept you as a client, it is because I have a sincere desire to help you resolve your matter. If you have a legal matter my firm cannot help you address, we will refer you to a firm or firms that can help address you specific matter. Whether you choose us to handle your legal needs, or another firm we wish you all the best in fulfilling your legal needs! We look forward to hearing from you! Regards,
