Here is an opportunity to make a big contribution by giving blood! If you are comfortable giving blood or know someone who is, please consider donating blood at the Jefferson County Courthouse tomorrow (Wednesday, July 20) between 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. You will not only help increase the local blood supply, but help support programs such as National Adoption Day, Veterans Legal Initiative, Second Chance Southeast Texas, High School Mock Trial, etc.

We are accepting Law Day Scholarship Competition Entry Forms!

Help us spread the word about the JCBA Law Day Scholarship opportunities for area students (grades K-12).

Encourage area students to draw a poster and submit it for the Law Day scholarship contest.

Do you know a high school senior?

Tell them to write an editorial (only 500 words) for the Editorial contest -- great scholarship money to be won!

Local first place winners will be forwarded to the state competition where they could earn more scholarship money!

Deadline to enter is March 20, 2020 @ NOON.

Many thanks to our wonderful friends of the Young Lawyers Association for always thinking of the elderly and disabled neighbors in our community who struggle with hunger! Thank you all for your generous contributions to helping us care for the homebound in Jefferson and Hardin counties.

Six area schools competed in the 39th Region V High School Mock Trial Competition hosted by the Jefferson County Young Lawyers Association. All the high school students did a great job!

Monsignor Kelly High School took first place and will be advancing to the state competition.

Veritas Classical Academy placed second and drew a wildcard to the state competition.

West Brook, Memorial, Central and Vidor all competed in the local competition.

Franya Blanton was named the Courtroom Artist and will advance to the state competition.

Special thanks to all the attorney coaches, faculty advisors and parents who volunteer their time to help these young talents soar! Our future is bright!

This event could not happen without the JCYLA volunteers and the JCBA volunteer judges. THANKS TO ALL!!
