And now, the cities want to put those homeowners, the same ones who lost all of the equity (and many lost their jobs as well) as a result of Wall Street's actions, in jail for not taking care of the same houses the Wall Street bankers made them believe they had to move out of b/c they could not afford to pay.

The Abandoned Homes Project would like to remind everyone that it is not NORMAL for our city to have nearly 20,000 abandoned homes. This is the result of failed government policies, some of which rewarded Wall Street for cooking up complicated financial schemes that transferred massive wealth from main street to wall street and allowed banks to be paid for loans whether the homeowner paid or not. So, since they got paid anyway, why bother with the cost of foreclosure? We'll just let the house rot.
