In some ways, they’re trying to bring back what made the old one special: agriculture, families, local businesses and a community that didn’t just attend the festival, it helped make it happen.

For 2026, that means FREE admission, free mutton bustin’, antique tractors, a tractor pull, a car show, family activities, and even locally grown rice going home with contestants and festival attendees.

We sat down with the people behind some of these changes to talk about where Rice Festival has been…and where they hope it’s headed next.
