No more “wait…do I stop yet?” moments. 🚦Minnesota’s updated school bus law clears things up: when those red lights start flashing, it’s time to stop—at least 20 feet back. Simple, clear, and all about keeping kids safe.

Minnesota has updated its school bus law to protect students and remove uncertainty for drivers.

This isn’t just about following the rules. It’s about making sure every student gets home safely.

Previously, the law required drivers to stop for a bus when its red flashing lights were flashing and the stop arm was extended.

Under the new law, drivers must stop at least 20 feet away as soon as the red lights start flashing.

This Sunday marks our law firm’s 33rd anniversary. Pictured below, standing beside the plaques he proudly hung, is John’s 92 year old dad, E. John Raboin, someone who’s been with us from the very beginning. On day one, he drove down from Bemidji with a truckload of used hotel furniture from a recently closed inn, and together we cobbled together our very first office and set off on this journey.

Over the years, Pop has probably hung nearly everything that’s ever gone up on our walls—firm in his belief that anything displayed should be absolutely straight. We wouldn’t have it any other way.
