🛑 Stop celebrating the end of Louisiana inspection stickers just yet. If you live in the Baton Rouge area, the law isn't giving you the total pass you think it is.
Governor Landry has officially signed the bill to eliminate traditional vehicle inspection stickers starting January 1, 2027, replacing them with a digital QR code system. While this sounds like a major relief, there is a very important catch for our community. Drivers in East Baton Rouge, West Baton Rouge, Livingston, Ascension, and Iberville Parishes will still be federally required to fulfill standard emissions testing.
However, there is a major detail that local drivers cannot overlook. Because our capital region faces specific federal environmental mandates, drivers in East Baton Rouge, West Baton Rouge, Livingston, Ascension, and Iberville Parishes will still be required to pay for and complete standard emissions testing even after the safety stickers go away.
