Next up in our Spring 2025 blog series is Senior Associate Alexis Carmichael’s article, “The Rising Current of Climate Change Litigation.”

JELR’s first blog post for spring 2025 is now LIVE! Kicking us off is Development Editor Ethan Dupree’s article titled “Finding the Remedy: Effects of Louisiana Mineral Code Article 11.”

Under Louisiana Mineral Code article 11, sellers must reserve their surface rights when retaining mineral interests. But what happens if the seller fails to specify those rights? Three potential remedies could apply, but without clear guidance from courts or lawmakers, the issue remains unsettled.
