W SECURED: TLF HITS $1,244,000 HOMERUN 🐰

Court of Appeal just AFFIRMED jury verdict won 2 years ago by TLF on behalf of super deserving client. This was litigation blueprint of defendants ➡️

2019: Severely injure young man through negligence
2020: Deny liability and claim plaintiff isn’t hurt
2021: Stalk plaintiff, call him a liar, and harass pregnant wife
2022: Offer young man $2,750 (when medical bills > $180k)
2023: Lose ~$1M at trial after telling jury to award $0
2024: File motion asking judge to toss jury’s verdict (denied)
2024: File motion for new trial (denied)
2024: File suit against PLAINTIFF alleging fraud (dismissed)
2024: Appeal jury’s verdict to 1st Circuit Court of Appeal
2025: File brief then beg appellate court to overturn verdict
2025: LOSE AGAIN (increase verdict by ~$290k in interest)

Next time you hear someone argue that plaintiff attorneys are responsible for so much frivolous litigation, remember this case. Though these stories don’t make the headlines, the truth is that massive majority of needless and costly litigation is caused by defendants/insurers.

Trichell Law Firm loves supporting the annual “Ball Maul Golf Classic” to help raise proceeds for the Baton Rouge Bar Association. This fundraiser enables the Bar Association to continue services our firm believes in, such as the “Pro Bono Project” for Greater Baton Rouge and free legal clinics throughout year for low-income individuals (“Ask-A-Lawyer” seminars). On a less important but fun note, Team TLF won 1st place at the 2025 Ball Maul (returning to glory from a two-year drought after victories in 2021 and 2022). Chase Trichell lucked out and also won the Long Drive Contest and Closest to Hole Challenge. We thank Chairman and for an awesome event as always! 🙌 ⚖️ ⛳️

It will be almost 70° next week. But that’s next week, NOT TODAY. Because today, all of Baton Rouge remains totally blanketed in snow! 🌬️❄️

We hope y’all are enjoying this magical weather, while remembering that snow and ice can be just as dangerous as they are beautiful. TLF encourages caution and safety as we melt our way back to south Louisiana’s (just normal) crazy climate. 🌧️☀️🌀⚡️🌦️🌪️🌞

“I love my family. I love my job. I love LSU. And I love Louisiana and Baton Rouge. I will never, ever leave this place,” said attorney Chase Trichell, after it was revealed last Friday that Trichell Law Firm had been ranked #2 in the LSU100 fastest-growing businesses owned by Tiger alums. Trichell continued, “To be recognized by the institution responsible for the color of my blood is one of the greatest honors of my career. I hardly feel worthy of this achievement, but I will cherish it for a lifetime all the same. Geaux Tigers!” 🐅

Six years ago, Chase Trichell took everything he had and bet it all on himself. Barely 30 years old, Chase founded and began operating Trichell Law Firm with nearly no cash, no help, no employees, and (almost) no chance. Almost…

But TLF is proof that victory can be ripped from the jaws of defeat. Fast forward to 2024. Rent has become ownership. One employee has become nearly 10. We now provide full benefits. We constantly donate time and money to worthy causes. We accept tons of pro bono work and always fight for underdogs. We employ students and interns at all times. We started a law school scholarship for people from single-parent households. We are growing and doing everything the right way, because The People always come first in our system. That will always be our business model.

TLF thanks everyone who had a hand in helping us reach #2 in the LSU💯. But to be honest, we are just getting warmed up! 🚀

Litigation is often one of the most challenging experiences in a person’s life, BUT… there are happy moments too. Amidst all the strife, smiles do emerge. Among all the heartache, joy can abound. For the hundreds of days of despair, one day like today makes it all worthwhile. It may be impossible to make a family whole again, but TLF will always do its damndest to fix what was broken. TLF is proudly graduate-owned by Chase Trichell, who received his bachelors, Graduate Diploma in Comparative Law, and Juris Doctor from . For a kid from Natchitoches who has bled purple and gold his whole life, there is no prouder achievement than being recognized by the best damn college on earth.
