NEW SADVOCATE PODCAST — EPISODE 47 with STATE REP. PAUL SAWYER

Our guest last week was Louisiana State Representative Paul Sawyer, who joined Dave & Drew to discuss one of Baton Rouge's longest-running traditions: talking about fixing flooding while waiting for the next flood.

We got into the Comite River Diversion Canal, dredging the Amite River, billions of dollars in flood-control projects, government bureaucracy, and why it takes Louisiana approximately three decades to dig a ditch.

Paul explained why he finally decided to run for office:
“I got tired of throwing my shoe at the TV.”

We also discussed his years working in Congress, his experience with Congressman Garret Graves, crime in Baton Rouge, and why getting arrested by the feds and shipped off to Kansas might be an effective crime deterrent.

It's a great mix of serious conversation, Louisiana politics, flooding, and the usual Sadvocate nonsense.

Give it a listen, follow The Sadvocate Podcast, and share it with somebody who's been waiting 30 years for the Comite River Diversion Canal.
