Recently, a client was arrested during a workplace raid. After his arrest, he was transferred through multiple detention centers, making it difficult for his family to keep track of where he was and what would happen next.
His initial bond request was denied.
For many people, that would have felt like the end of the road. But immigration law is constantly changing, and sometimes a denied case deserves another look.
After reviewing a recent federal court decision that significantly expanded bond eligibility for immigration detainees, we filed a new bond request and presented updated legal arguments to the court.
This time, the judge granted bond.
Today, our client is out of detention and back with his family.
Cases like this are an important reminder that a bond denial is not always the final answer. New laws, new court decisions, and a fresh legal strategy can sometimes make all the difference.
