Third quarter IEP progress reports are coming out shortly! Email your child’s educators *today* and request that the progress reports “include specific and measurable data on each objective.” If the report says things like “she is doing well/struggling with…” that’s not specific or measurable and doesn’t tell you (or the school!) whether your child will achieve the objectives by the due date.

This a great list not only for teachers, but for parents as well to pose to your child's IEP team when teachers report back on your child's challenging "behavior" and/or at IEP team meetings. Behavior is communication! What are the unmet needs? What needs to be added to the IEP? What isn't being implemented that is already in the IEP?
