A lot of people assume this:
If only one car is involved, the driver is automatically responsible. That is not always true.
At our firm, we have seen single-vehicle crashes where something else caused the accident.
Here are a few examples.
🛣️ Dangerous road conditions:
Potholes, uneven pavement, or poorly maintained roads can lead to loss of control.
🚗 Swerving to avoid another driver:
If a reckless driver forces someone off the road, that situation matters.
⚙️ Vehicle defects:
Brake failure. Tire issues. Mechanical problems that should not have happened.
🚛 Debris on the road:
Objects falling from trucks or left on the roadway can cause serious crashes.
Single-car does not always mean single responsibility. The cause of the crash is what really matters.
