Bill C. Wright, a cherished son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, after succumbing to the 2 1/2-year battle with Valley Fever and its impact on his body.
A lifelong resident of Bakersfield, Bill was a man of deep convictions, immense professional pride, and an unwavering commitment to his community.
Born on March 3, 1982, to Larry and Linda Wright, Bill grew up with a glove in his hand and a heart for the game of baseball. A proud alumnus of Garces Memorial High School, he was known to his teammates and friends as "Billy Boy," a name that reflected his spirited and approachable nature. His passion for the sport continued through his college years at Hawaii Pacific University, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree while continuing to play the game he loved.
Following in his father’s professional footsteps, Bill pursued a career in law. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Trinity Law School and joined his father at their local estate planning firm, The Wright Law Office. Bill took considerable pride in his work, treating every client with the utmost respect and providing dedicated service to everyone he encountered.
Bill’s love for Bakersfield was evident in his extensive community service. He was particularly devoted to the elder community and served on several local boards, including the Alzheimer’s Disease Association of Kern County (ADAKC), Kern Dance Alliance, The Aging Network, and Stewards. His presence will be profoundly missed by the many organizations and individuals he touched.
A "true blue" Los Angeles Dodgers fan to the end, Bill will be remembered for his kind heart, his professional integrity, and his dedication to helping others.
Bill is survived by his loving parents, Larry and Linda Wright; his sisters, Jennifer Madrid and Carrie English and her husband Jon English, and a large family of nieces, nephews and cousins who will carry his memory forward.
