Experience matters. I have been defending citizens accused of criminal activity for fourteen years. I have been able to build a practice off of nothing more than word of mouth for a reason. My clients like my work. I have never advertised. So if you see a glossy ad or come on from a lawyer purporting to do this work and do it well, your due diligence is still required. I would suggest you first look at when they were licensed which can easily be found on the State Bar of Texas website. A new lawyer simply has not practiced long enough to proclaim expertise in this area. And yet they do. The experience, relationships, and reputation built over the course of a career matters in securing the best outcome for your case. I was licensed in 1999 and have practiced exclusively in the field of criminal law since 2001. I am a former Presiding Director and board member of Austin Criminal Defense Lawyer's Association.
I am not a dabbler and I do nothing but criminal defense. This field gets all of my time, interest, and energy and I love being able to help people in crisis. Prosecutors, Judges, and clients know they can trust me and this alone provides for a leg up in every case. And my results and reviews speak for themselves. I would invite you to check them. So just be mindful that technical savvy, social media hype, and declarations of competence do not mean a thing without the experience to back it up. Please use caution when hiring a lawyer and know that I would welcome the opportunity to assist you with any criminal case or accusation. You can rest assured I know what I'm doing and will secure the best possible outcome for you in any case. Take care and stay safe.
