Hi, I’m Jan Lee. Born and raised in the Philippines, I’ve proudly called Austin home for over 20 years.

This city, its neighborhoods, culture, and people have shaped who I am today.

As the founder of Jan Lee Homes and a Top 10% agent at Keller Williams Market Center, I’ve guided families for more than a decade through buying, selling, and investing in real estate.

In 2017, I had to rebuild my life from scratch with nothing but five trash bags and a vision.

Closing Success Story:
Overcoming Hurdles to Get "Clear to Close"

"Clear to close"—those three magical words everyone in real estate celebrates. But when they don’t come, it can send the whole process into a tailspin. 😬 I remember one particularly nerve-wracking transaction when the lender said, "We need proof of income from the Philippines."

How were we supposed to get it?
For months, my client had been trying to reach out to their former employer in the Philippines with no success. The lack of response wasn’t surprising; after all, doing business in the Philippines is vastly different from the U.S. (That could be a whole other blog, but let's stay focused on the win!)
Despite the frustration, we pushed forward. The deal was hanging by a thread, and the clock was ticking. 🕒 So, we had to get creative. I leaned on my network, made calls, and explored every possible angle. Through a series of lucky breaks and relentless effort, we finally got the necessary documentation.
This situation was a reminder that real estate transactions don’t always follow the script. Sometimes you have to work outside the box, get creative, and lean on relationships to make things happen. And in this case, we did—earning those magic words: "clear to close." ✅

Moral of the story? Friends on your side Pabatao Jac Perseverance, patience, and problem-solving are as important as contracts and documents. 💼 It’s what takes you from almost there to closed. 🔑🏡

We traveled overnight to Houston, and
had the incredible opportunity to teach and share our skills—my hubby, with his amazing gift of reading people, and me, with my passion for Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and communication.

None of this would have been possible without the love and support from our friends Christina Beth Jones Elizabeth Kyser Jannel Gonzalez who believed in us and made this moment happen.

I am beyond thankful!

Standing in front of strangers, sharing my knowledge and teaching what I love, gave me butterflies.

Yes, I was nervous, but in the best possible way! I got to do what truly lights me up—encouraging, inspiring, and connecting with others on such a deep level. Seeing people light up as they learned and realize that they too can and will achieve anything they set to accomplish reminded me of how much I love this journey we’re all on together.

The truth is, in order to understand and connect with others, I had to take that journey inward first.

From the person I used to be (one carrying many loads of pain), questioning why I was that way, to now embracing a newer version of me—🙋‍♀️ Jan 8.0—it’s been a path filled with growth, reflection, and so much love.

It’s never easy to look within, but the love and support I’ve received along the way have made all the difference.

I’m so grateful for everyone who has been part of this journey. To the friends who believe in me, to my husband Paul Joon Lee who walks this path by my side, and to every soul we touched today—thank you.
