Our Story

Timothy A. Griswold, Principal Attorney of Griswold Law Firm

Tim was born and raised in Utah. He has been a member of the California State Bar since 2008 and is a seasoned trial attorney, having acted as first chair in numerous trials in both military and civilian courts. Tim speaks Chinese Mandarin fluently (DLPT V Score 3/3) and Japanese at an intermediate level (DLPT V Score 2+/2). He specializes in family law, civil litigation, and estate planning.

Tim graduated cm laude from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, College of Law in 2008, where he received a full-tuition scholarship. Tim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Information Systems from Utah State University, where he graduated in the top 10% of his class. He also has a Associate of Arts degree in Chinese Mandarin, jointly awarded by Monterey Peninsula Community College and Defense Language Institute in 1998, where he won the Provost's Award as the top academic student..

Prior to law school, Tim was a computer programmer and an enlisted member of the Utah Army National Guard. He served in Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2003-2004 in that capacity, and is currently a major in the US Air Force Reserves. As a hobby, Tim is an ardent practitioner of Taijiquan. In 2016, he won the nationwide "Push Hands King Competition," sponsored jointly by the International Wushu Sanshoudao Association (IWSD) and Tigerclaw. He currently writes articles for Kungfu Tai Chi Magazine..
