Being a plaintiff attorney trying to make a living handling medical malpractice cases with the caps on damages is tough for the attorney, and really tough on the victim. I am still doing it and in past few months have settled 3 such cases for $2,200,000, $1,425,000 and $1,860,000. Before 2003, those cases would have settled for 5 to 10 times that amount. I am still fighting for the little guy.

Wouldn't it be great if the members of congress would do something besides posturing, back-biting and campaigning. Good mediators tell the litigants at mediation that a good settlement leaves everyone disappointed and unhappy, but it is the best deal everyone can live with!!!

Amazing times for lawyers representing tort victims. With the "made whole doctrine" abolished, we are fighting to get money out of insurance companies so that health insurance companies can get first money out of our client's measley settlements.

Success that has been eluding me: I finally (humanely) trapped the pesky armadillo that has been digging up all the beds at the house. We will release it safely in a high class neighborhood with wonderful beds to dig in.
