Today, I want to talk about Character.

Our very first multifamily deal was hit hard by COVID. Solid Class C asset, decent neighborhoodโ€”but crime doesnโ€™t honor property lines, especially when local economies are under stress. Rent relief didnโ€™t show up the way we hoped, and ultimately, the bank took the property back.

It was one of the hardest seasons of my life.

But hereโ€™s what mattered most: we didnโ€™t disappear. We stayed in constant communication with our investors. I made a personal commitment to make them wholeโ€”however long it would take.

And because of that integrity, many of those same investors are still with us. Theyโ€™ve reinvested. Theyโ€™ve seen us win. And they trust us because they saw who we were when things didnโ€™t go right.

Thatโ€™s character.
