School's out for the summer in Texas! 🌞

Parents, if the kids are getting rowdy at home, consider exploring the "Punishment Pad/Mat for Toddlers" as detailed in U.S. Patent Publication No. 2007/0245491.

This application sought to protect:

1. A child's punishment mat comprising:
a mat on which a child may sit; and
a removable timer mechanism affixed to the mat for timing a period for the child to be punished.

The application was abandoned prior to grant (not for lack of utility) and is thankfully in the public domain.

Never been more excited to see Monday morning. The lights are back on, kids are back in school, and water service coming back shortly. I enjoyed my brief stint as primitive survivalist / part-time lumberjack through the but happy to be back in business at Amsel IP Law PLLC (and Applewhite Firm PLLC).

Best wishes to everyone in Austin (or living in exile) still waiting on power and/or water to be restored. Stay safe out there!

My pledge in March was to be more active on social media in year two of Amsel IP Law. Now that it is November, I'm getting around to my second post of the year, thereby hitting a key performance indicator (KPI for you business gurus out there) of 2x year-over-year (YoY) growth. Congratulations to myself and everyone at Amsel IP Law (which is actually still just myself) for this tremendous accomplishment. Next stop, the moon! Happy Friday!

When you don't have a CMO, marketing dept, or any sort of marketing oversight, it's easy to spend the arbitrarily set "marketing budget" on questionable campaigns.

Just passed the one-year mark at Amsel IP Law and I'm finally getting around to only my second post. Fortunately, Amsel IP Law ramped up more quickly than expected and I have been failing to find any time to put towards the social media campaign in between running the law firm and my "real" job: meeting the demands of the three little humans I serve at home. I plan to make an effort to be more active online in year two, but we will see what happens!
