This weekend our team attended the Administer Justice Conference, centered on the theme of Breaking Down Barriers. We were inspired by Bruce Strom and other speakers, and encouraged by connecting with attorneys, volunteers, and Justice Center teams committed to bringing hope and justice to vulnerable people.
Administer Justice is a faith-based legal aid ministry providing free legal help, hope, and dignity to those in need. Our team returned encouraged and equipped with new ideas to better serve our community.
A few statistics shared at the conference were especially impactful:
- 150 million civil legal matters arise each year
- 1 in 3 people cannot afford a lawyer
- 46 million Americans are turned away from legal help annually
- 40% of U.S. counties have little or no access to a lawyer
- 92% of legal issues facing low-income Americans are not fully addressed
These aren’t just numbers; they represent people facing real challenges without guidance or support.
At our legal clinics, our hope is simple: that every neighbor feels welcomed, valued, and cared for when they arrive, and leaves with peace, dignity, and a path forward.
Our prayer is that in the next 25 years, there will be an Administer Justice center in every state, expanding access to justice while making Christ known through service and compassion.
The justice gap is real, and more volunteers and attorneys are needed to help meet the need. Whether you want to serve, support, or simply learn more, we invite you to get involved.
