Hull Barrett is pleased to welcome Brandtley Vickery Mohr as an associate in our Evans office. Brandtley joins our Private Wealth transactional group, focusing on business law and estate planning.

She brings experience from a multinational law firm in Atlanta, where she worked on mergers and acquisitions and capital markets matters. A magna cm laude graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law and summa cm laude graduate of UGA, Brandtley distinguished herself through leadership, scholarship, and service.

Outside of work, she enjoys time with her husband, Harrison, and their dog, Fitz. We are excited for the knowledge and passion she brings to Hull Barrett and our clients.

Legal Word of the Week: Easement

Ever heard the term easement and wondered what it means? 🤔

An easement is a legal right that allows someone to use another person’s land for a specific purpose — like a driveway, walkway, or utility line.

Example: Hull Barrett Attorneys may help a property owner understand or establish an easement that gives the city access to maintain water lines on their property.

Fun fact: Easements usually “run with the land,” meaning they stay in place even when the property changes hands.

Legal Word of the Week: Res Ipsa Loquitur

Latin for “the thing speaks for itself.” In personal injury cases, this doctrine applies when the very nature of an accident suggests negligence—even without direct evidence.
For example, if a surgical instrument is left inside a patient after surgery, res ipsa loquitur allows the injury itself to “speak” to the negligence involved.

We are proud to announce that Kelley D. Mobley, was officially sworn in to the Georgia Bar today in front of Judge Jesse C. Stone at the Augusta-Richmond County Judicial Center. He was presented to the Court by Christopher A. Cosper, with some of the firm’s staff and attorneys from the Augusta and Aiken offices proudly in attendance, along with his loving and supportive wife, Bethany.

Kelley’s dedication and hard work have brought him to this important milestone, and we’re thrilled to have him with us. He has been practicing in our Aiken office, doing a phenomenal job, and we’re equally glad to now have him practicing in Georgia.
