One thing about me — I will advocate relentlessly for my children. Every single time.

This email was sent January 17, 2024 after months of concerns, leaks, unanswered complaints, and being dismissed when I knew something wasn’t right inside our home. I never wanted anyone to lose their job, and that was never my intent. My intent was simple: protect my child, demand accountability, and ensure families are treated with dignity and urgency when health and safety are involved.

Advocacy is not about being difficult. Advocacy is about refusing to stay silent when something threatens the well-being of the people you love. Sometimes your voice makes people uncomfortable because truth requires responsibility.

Looking back now, I’m grateful I trusted my discernment, documented everything, and stood ten toes down for my son despite being overlooked and minimized. Mothers know. And when God places something in your spirit, you do not ignore it.

“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed.” — Proverbs 31:8

Proud to be partnering with DeKalb County Schools and our community to help equip students for a successful school year through STAPLE The Community’s School Supply Drive! 📚✏️🎒

If you’re a parent, then you already know… we’ve all had that moment of scrambling through stores the night before school starts trying to find everything on that long supply list. For many families, those costs can quickly become overwhelming.

Our goal is simple: help take some of the load off families in need and remind our students that their community is rooting for them.

The world is hard enough. The first day of school should feel exciting, hopeful, and full of possibility — not stressful. Every backpack, notebook, pencil, and donation helps create a smoother start for a child and their family.

Whether you donate supplies, contribute financially, share this post, or simply help spread the word, you are making a direct impact in the lives of local students right here in our community.

Together, we can show our children that they are supported, valued, and prepared to thrive. 💜💚

Officially certified. 🙏🏽✨

Although I graduated from the Start Accelerator Program on April 28th, today it became even more real receiving my official Microbusiness Administration Certificate from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.

This 14-week journey sharpened my skills in business planning, financial literacy, marketing strategy, entrepreneurship, community leadership, and sustainable business development — all while strengthening the foundation of STAPLE The Community, LLC.

As someone deeply committed to advocacy, empowerment, and creating access within the community, this certification represents more than business growth for me. It represents obedience, resilience, and the willingness to continue learning so I can better serve others through purpose-driven work.

Thank you to the mentors, coaches, peers, and everyone who poured into this experience. I’m walking away from this program with greater knowledge, stronger strategy, and even bigger vision for what’s ahead.

God continues to remind me that preparation and purpose go hand in hand. Grateful for every opportunity, every lesson, and every room I’ve been trusted to enter. 🤍

From the desk of DeKalb County Code Enforcement Administration… seeing STAPLE The Community, LLC listed on the front page of their Tenant’s Resource Guide is truly humbling.

What started from lived experience, hardship, advocacy, and a determination to ensure families have access to information and resources has now grown into purpose-filled community work that is reaching tables and spaces I once only prayed about.

I don’t take any of this lightly. I am deeply grateful for the conversations, collaborations, and opportunities God is aligning in this season. To be recognized as a trusted community resource alongside organizations doing impactful work throughout DeKalb County is an honor I will continue to steward with integrity, compassion, and service.

Thank you to everyone who has supported, encouraged, collaborated, and believed in the vision behind STAPLE The Community. This is only the beginning. 🤍

🏀💰 BACK FOR SEASON TWO!! 💰🏀

Honored, grateful, and beyond excited to share that STAPLE The Community, LLC has been invited back for a second year to facilitate Money Matters Youth Financial Literacy Classes at the upcoming Rowsom Basketball Camp at Clarkston First Baptist Church, June 23–26, 2026! 🙌🏽

There’s something powerful about teaching our youth that success isn’t only built on the court—it’s also built through knowledge, discipline, and understanding how to manage money. Financial literacy at a young age matters because we’re not just teaching children how to count dollars… we’re teaching them how to build futures, create opportunities, make informed decisions, and break cycles.

Planting these seeds early helps our youth understand the value of earning it, saving it, growing it, and protecting it. Today’s lessons can become tomorrow’s businesses, homeowners, leaders, and changemakers.

A huge thank you to Coach Rowsom and the entire team for believing in this mission and welcoming us back. Looking forward to pouring into these amazing young people again this summer! Let’s work! 🔥🏀💵

It’s official… my book has officially been submitted for publishing. 🖤✨

From the front cover to the final page, every word in this collection reflects the distance between who I was and who I’ve become. This wasn’t just writing for me—it was healing. It was surrender. It was learning how to let God be the true author of my story because there were seasons I honestly didn’t know how I was going to make it through… and somehow, He carried me anyway.

This book is deeply personal. Raw. Honest. Unfiltered. The kind of pages that were written in the middle of heartbreak, healing, growth, accountability, grief, self-love, and rediscovering my worth.

“Unbecoming What Didn’t Choose Me” is for the ones who had to choose themselves the hard way.

Inside these pages are reflections on releasing what no longer serves you, outgrowing survival mode, healing from what broke you, and becoming the version of yourself you were always meant to be.

Some poems will hug you.
Some will humble you.
Some will feel a little too familiar. 👀

But my prayer is that every page reminds someone they are not alone in what they’ve survived.

142 pages later…
and God still gets all the glory.

I cannot WAIT for y’all to get your hands on this one. 🥹🔥

It’s Thursday… and you know what that means! 💫 Heading in for my final session with the DeKalb Brilliance Academy 4th graders as we put the finishing touches on their gentrification projects and prepare for their final presentations.

This experience has been incredibly fulfilling. While the scholars had the opportunity to learn from me about advocacy, petitions, community impact, and using their voices for change, I’m equally grateful for the lessons they taught me along the way. Their courage to ask hard questions, their empathy for families impacted by neighborhood changes, and their confidence in believing they deserve to be heard reminded me that advocacy has no age limit.

Watching them connect history, community stories, and real-life solutions has been powerful to witness. Wrapping up my second year as a project partner feeling grateful, inspired, and already eager to jump back on the roster for the 2026–2027 school year! 🙌🏽✨
