This week, we're recognizing mediator Pat Jones, a longtime advocate for Cancer Support Community Atlanta and a sponsor of the 2026 Chastain Chase. Pat's connection to the organization is deeply personal, shaped by his own cancer journey and the experiences of family members affected by cancer. As a former Board Chair and current Board member, he has dedicated years to helping ensure that cancer patients and their families have access to free programs of support, education, and hope.

The Chastain Chase 5K Run & 3K Walk takes place on June 7, National Cancer Survivors Day, with proceeds benefiting Cancer Support Community Atlanta, the region's leading provider of psychosocial cancer support services.

We are proud to congratulate Hannah King of Mercer University School of Law on receiving the Edward J. Henning Memorial Award, presented by the Atlanta Bar Association’s Dispute Resolution Section! 🎉

Through her work on Mercer’s arbitration competition team, Hannah developed a passion for alternative dispute resolution and its ability to create meaningful outcomes. As she shared, mediation allows parties to resolve disputes "efficiently, thoughtfully, and with greater control over the outcome than traditional litigation often allows."

Through her internship with State Farm and her ADR studies, Tiera developed a deep appreciation for mediation’s ability to create practical, collaborative solutions. As she noted, mediation allows parties to reach resolutions that are "mutually acceptable, rather than purely adversarial."
