Hey everyone! It's amazing to see how large this group has gotten after stepping away for a bit. Let me tell you what's been going on.

After a rough beginning of the school year due to severe behaviors, I had to withdraw James again. But this time, instead of sending him to Laurel Heights Hospital, my principal advised me to try what Gwinnett County offers for autism. ABA therapy at home full-time, as" homeschooling."I had tried ABA before and didn't get anywhere, and I didn't see it working in school. BUT.... I tried again since it was going to be full-time in my home.

Annnddddd, it has been a game changer. Our RBT is absolutely amazing. James continues some educational things, but is mostly learning behavior therapy and life skills. He now plays all kinds of board games, plays basketball, and can catch a volley 25 times in a row. He is doing reading and writing comprehension for an hour!!!! ( He was starting off at 10 minutes) He now also knows how to do a full load of laundry at 13, wipe the counters, and sweep the floor. He is doing "hygiene" in the morning and evenings by himself, and also sleeps in his own bed.

SO... he will continue homeschooling during the summer, and then we will attempt to place him back into the school environment if he can handle it. And if he can, great. But if he can't, then we continue with "M", here at the house.

I hope this post gives you guys hope if you are struggling. Stay strong, stay consistent.

Hey everyone! I just wanted to share that since James has been “homeschooled “ for ABA therapy he has made tremendous progress. I am re-enrolling him back to school for the upcoming school year!

Hello all! Following a rather rough year losing both my mom and my sister back to back, James and I are on the mend, and ready to make this a better year! I am going to be reaching out to our audience for topics they would like to hear about, and more organized content. Who knows, maybe a podcast is in the future! Stay tuned.

It's been a while since I have posted here. Jamies Gigi has been ill and passed away on March 6th, a very sad day.
I also will be updating the website so stay tuned in for that!

Spring has a arrived and that means time to get OUT! James would much rather be inside on his computer all day---- however mama isn't letting that happen! Spring break is here and that means picnics at local parks and finding activities in the local disability community! Photos to come!

And then I have a huge downfall. I had to take mom to a 👨‍⚕️ appt and had to reschedule it because James had a meltdown in the waiting room. He said words that I’m embarrassed he even knows.
I am the sore caregiver to my mom. I am the sole caregiver to my son, and I’m not taking time for me. It scares me because I’m afraid one day that I’m gonna lose my s**t. I’m totally serious. I don’t know how much longer I can keep this up.

James likes spaghetti!!!!

I’m really struggling with James’s cursing. He knows it’s not allowed, we do not do it at home. Any ideas on how to break this devious habit?
