They agree on Friday closings. They do not agree on dogs. Kara sends more closings to Jake's table than anyone, so this is Round 1 of an ongoing debate.

Adding your adult child to the deed feels like the simple way to skip probate, and it's an understandable instinct.

In Georgia it usually trades one problem for three: their creditors or a divorce can reach your house, they may owe capital gains in the future that could have been avoided, and you can't sell or refinance without their signature.

The seller passed away, and the contract is signed, and that closing can still happen on time.

Inheriting a house is not the same as owning it. The title does not automatically transfer because a will says so, and signing anything before the estate is settled is how people end up with a problem instead of a property.

Two houses in Metro Atlanta, same price, a few streets apart, and one carries a bigger property tax bill.

If your GAR contract went binding before September 28, your closing date may have just moved.

Governor Kemp’s gas tax State of Emergency automatically extends unexpired GAR deadlines up to eight days. Non-GAR contracts , such as many new construction contracts, typically don’t include this stipulation.
