I started working in real estate in my early 20's while studying at the University of Georgia. I have lived in Athens, Ga.

After graduating from UGA in 2003, I continued to gain experience as a real estate sales consultant with a major land development corporation. After a few years in the "real world," I decided to take a leap of faith and pursue my other passion...songwriting. I eventually achieved success in the ever-challenging music industry and spent some time touring the world as a recording artist and perform

er. At the end of a long (and enlightening) run as a professional musician, I made the easy decision to return to real estate. for over 15 years and I am very familiar with every nook and cranny that makes this area uniquely beautiful. I continuously study local market trends and adopt new and effective selling techniques, all while honoring tried and true sales methods in the modern real estate arena. Comer Coffee in Athens!

We are insanely excited to announce we are opening a sister shop downtown Athens, . This is a legendary spot for me since I was a kid- I am honored for the torch to be passed to us, to be the ambassadors of specialty coffee in this picturesque space. Big thanks to Dan and the Wuxtry team for letting us be a small part on the corner of the dynasty you have created over the last 45 years! You have championed the “Comer Renaissance” since day one, and now you continue to offer support with this amazing opportunity. We are so excited.

We hope to be fully open by the end of summer, but in the meantime, we are going to have a Comer Coffee POP - UP running in the space for Athfest June 24-26th so come by and see us. We will have all of our espresso drinks and bags for sale as well as some awesome take away food for the whole weekend.

Update on the “Big dude on motorcycle” post from last week. His name is Rick Wood and he is a mighty good man. His generosity caused a stir in me and others it seems, to do some good. I’m ready to flood social media with some good natured nonsense, so here goes. I took his hundy, aka $100, from the picture and along with some other generous souls we have commissioned this T-shirt designed by the good people at Satisfactory Printing . The T will be available for presale starting tomorrow at hendershotsathens.com. It will take about a week or so for turn around but the idea is this. Community impact! We are all on Team Human. A community, a nation, a world is only as strong as its weakest link and Rick and I would like the profit from the sale of this T to strengthen some links. So we will donate all profits from sales to Athfest Educates. Nothing is more important to strong community than a child’s education. Strong, well educated children become strong, well educated adults and the ALL of the children in Athens deserve just that. A strong education. I don’t believe there is anything more important. So please, if you feel so inclined, purchase one of these shirts for you or a friend and make an impact. Let’s look out for each other. If we don’t, no one else will.
