EMPLOYMENT LAW VICTORY | $400,000 DISCRIMINATION & HARASSMENT SETTLEMENT

Our Employment Law Department is proud to announce the successful resolution of a workplace discrimination and harassment matter on behalf of a Black male maintenance technician, resulting in a $400,000 settlement.

Our client alleged that he was subjected to unlawful workplace discrimination and harassment based on his race, creating a hostile work environment that negatively impacted his employment and well-being. After aggressively advocating for our client’s rights and pursuing accountability, our team secured a substantial settlement that recognizes the seriousness of the allegations and the importance of equal treatment in the workplace.

Every employee deserves to work in an environment free from discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and unfair treatment. Employers have a legal obligation to maintain workplaces where all individuals are treated with dignity, respect, and fairness regardless of race, color, national origin, s*x, age, disability, religion, or other protected characteristics.

This result reflects our firm’s unwavering commitment to protecting workers who have been subjected to unlawful employment practices. We are honored to stand alongside employees who courageously come forward to assert their rights and seek justice.

$400,000 Settlement Secured

If you believe you have experienced workplace discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, or other violations of employment laws, our Employment Law Department is prepared to help evaluate your situation and discuss your legal options.

A Queens father of two is dead after snow was allegedly plowed into active traffic lanes on the Long Island Expressway.

Sacco & Fillas LLP is proud to represent the family of Carlos Astimbay in connection with this fatal crash, which occurred on February 6, 2026, near Exit 22 in Flushing.

Mr. Astimbay, a 50 year old livery cab driver who served New York City for 20 years, was killed when his vehicle struck the center median and was hit by a tractor trailer on a stretch of highway where snow had allegedly been improperly cleared.

The family alleges that snow removal practices by the NYC Department of Sanitation created dangerous conditions on the expressway. Rather than clearing snow onto the shoulder, it was allegedly pushed back into active traffic lanes. A Sanitation Department supervisor has reportedly been suspended as the NYPD investigates.

No family should lose a loved one because of failures in basic road safety operations. If you or someone you know has been affected by dangerous road conditions or negligent maintenance, you have rights.
