Schmergel and Dennis M. Mersberger opened the practice over a decade ago to provide clients with a law firm that echoed the traditions of a classic boutique law practice, yet utilized modern methods to achieve the most efficient and cost-effective results. The firm's goal is to provide personalized attention to each client in resolving all manner of family law, traffic defense and criminal defense legal matters. Clients can expect not only zealous representation, but a commitment to resolving each case in the most efficient manner, whether in court or by negotiation. At Schmergel & Mersberger, PLC, clients are afforded creative, open-minded and forward-thinking legal expertise based on years of experience in the local court systems. Each case is passionately pursued with the unique approach it deserves. Schmergel & Mersberger, PLC is not a "general practice" law firm, and chooses to focus in only two main areas of the law: Criminal Defense and Family Law. Schmergel serves as lead counsel in all family law cases at the firm, and Mr. Mersberger handles the firm's criminal and traffic cases. They believe that limiting their practice areas in this manner allows them to be more proficient in their respective practice areas and stay abreast of developments in the law which affect their clients.
