*** USCIS Delays

CBS News reports that a change in practice has occurred due to the FBI granting USCIS greater access to its criminal history database. This change is in response to Executive Order 12385, which mandates that Federal criminal justice agencies provide DHS access to criminal history record information to the fullest extent allowed by law.

The enhanced checks will affect all pending applications requiring fingerprint submission, including adjustment of status, naturalization, and family sponsorship petitions. USCIS says that any delays in decision issuance should be brief and resolved shortly.
