This Black History Month the World's GREATEST law school honored the World's GREATEST attorney . . . AND me too! :D It's a joke, you should laugh. :)

But seriously, it's an incredible honor to be recognized by your school, and an even greater honor to be listed alongside some truly phenomenal attorneys and judges.

I appreciate my law school alma mater's Black History Month efforts, and look forward to working with them to attract more of the best and brightest African American students to follow in our steps. Here's to celebrating the next group of African American attorneys that will be showcased!

The United States celebrates the achievements of African Americans in February. The law school celebrates and thanks those who have contributed to the fabric of our school and the legal profession through the years too. Meet a representative few.

In honor of Black History Month, as well as Presidents' Day on Monday, we celebrate a Virginia first: For the first time ever, the presidents of the Fairfax Bar Association (Donna Banks, left), the Arlington Bar Association (Rex Flynn, center), and the Alexandria Bar Association (Tamika Jones, right) are African American lawyers.
These large Northern Virginia bar associations represent thousands of lawyers, and work tirelessly to enhance access to justice and for the improvement of the legal profession in their communities.
Donna Banks works as the assistant county attorney for Fairfax County. Rex Flynn is the founder of The Flynn Law Firm, specializing in criminal defense and family law. And Tamika Jones is the founder of The Jones Practice, working in family law, criminal, and civil matters.
We applaud these three presidents not only for their leadership, but for their willingness to find the time to serve.
And thank you to The Hon. Gerald Bruce Lee (ret.) for the tip!

The Flynn Law Firm is pleased to announce that Rex Flynn was recognized in the 2020 class of Virginia Lawyers Media’s “Leaders in the Law.”

Virginia Lawyers Media is the publisher for Virginia Lawyers Weekly, and has been recognizing “Leaders in the Law” for the past 15 years. This program recognizes lawyers from across the Commonwealth “who are setting the standard for other Virginia lawyers.” These leaders in the law are “recognized for changing the law, serving the community, changing practice or improving Virginia’s justice system, among other accomplishments.”
