Did you know that if you pass intestate (without a will), the laws of intestate succession will determine who gets your assets? These laws vary based on your marital status, surviving children, or other relatives (parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc.). If no relatives exist or can be found, your entire estate could go to the state. Avoid this by creating a valid will or trust today. Attorney Matt Tramm can help protect your assets and carry out your wishes after you transition. Contact him at www.trammlawfirm.com.

True or False? If you pass without a will, your assets will be distributed by the probate laws in your state. True. Dying intestate means that the probate court distributes your assets according to intestate succession laws. If you’d like to ensure that your wishes are carried out according to your wishes and not the courts, you need a valid will. Matt Tramm is an experienced estate planning attorney that has been successfully helping Minnesota families with their estate planning needs since 2017.

True or False? An individual could lose approximately 1% of the total value of their assets due to probate. False. You could lose 5% or more of the total value of your assets due to probate. Additionally, a court process would likely tie up your assets for months or even years, and they could deprive your kids or relatives of the resources they need to live comfortably. If you want to make sure that this doesn’t happen, contact Attorney Matt Tramm at www.trammlawfirm.com. He is an experienced estate planning lawyer that has been helping clients since 2017. Contact him today for a detailed case review.
