The biggest misconception we see?
“I don’t need an estate plan yet.”

Planning isn’t about hitting some financial milestone. It’s about making decisions while you still can.

When you wait, those decisions don’t wait… they get made by the court, and they usually cost a whole lot more.

The reality is (unfortunately) the only guarantees are death and taxes, waiting aside.

No spouse or kids? That doesn’t simplify things… you just don’t have the usual defaults that others do.

Do it while you still can, before the court does it for you.

Life is full right now. Snow days, daycare closures, or just being needed all day long—while the mental list of everything else keeps running in the background on repeat.

These are the patterns I see over and over again with parents…
easy to overlook, but too important to ignore.

Next in the Neighborhood: Fox Valley, August 17–23

Plenty happening this week, from hikes and playgroups to makerspace nights and community festivals. On Friday, the Firefighters Picnic is back in Combined Locks-last year we went and it was super cute, with just enough to do for the kids without being overwhelming. The weekend rounds out with Summer Send Off in Greenville and the Daddy Daughter Farm Formal at Mulberry Lane. (SUCH a cute idea and so sad to miss it!)

A heartbeat. Thank God.
I finally took a breath for the first time in two days after a few events had me convinced there wouldn’t be one.

“That’s right… and here’s the other one.”

…Two? TWO heartbeats?! Twins!?

We maniacally laughed. We sobbed. We stared in total disbelief. And now, five months later, we’re still in disbelief.

We are so blessed. So grateful to love our four babies.

Thank you to everyone for your patience and well wishes. This summer has been unexpected, long, and HOT — but I’m more grateful than ever for this job and what we’re building together.

Stay tuned… we have a lot to dive into over the next few months! So many new and exciting things with our family and the firm, and we can’t wait to share them with you.

Traditional law never sat right with us… and it doesn’t have to with you either.

I know I can say that until I’m blue in the face, but unless you know me and the why behind Emro Law, it probably doesn’t mean much.

So, I figured it’s time to reintroduce myself and the reason this firm exists.

You don’t need a white collar or alphabet soup after your name to protect your family or your business. You don’t need to “have it all together” to start.

You just need someone who understands what it’s like to build a life while juggling everything else—and who can help you put a plan in place that actually fits how you live and work. (Because they’re doing the same damn thing.)
