Tip of the Month: If you think your family could benefit from a trust, review all your options and decide which one is right for you.

The key thing to know is that there’s more than one kind of trust. There are living trusts and testamentary trusts, and trusts can be either revocable or irrevocable. Blended families and unique family situations often require thoughtful planning.

Working with an experienced estate planning attorney can help ensure your wishes are protected and your plan reflects the best interests of you and your loved ones.

Q: How do I decide if I need a trust?

A. Estate planning is not one-size-fits-all. Your plan should reflect your unique circumstances, wishes, and the needs of your beneficiaries — especially if loved ones have special needs or other unique situations to consider.

A trust can provide peace of mind by helping ensure assets are available to care for you and your loved ones in the event of a disability. It can also help protect your children and their inheritance, provide support for beneficiaries with disabilities, help safeguard assets for those who may struggle with managing money, and potentially reduce taxes and court costs.

The Hooper Law family is saddened to share the loss of our newest family member, Aine Harbach.

Aine entered the world early to Hooper Law Office Owners, Sarah Kons and Peter Harbach, on September 25, 2025, and spent the last seven months in the NICU at Children's Wisconsin. She passed away on Sunday, May 10.

While her life was far too short, Aine made an incredible impact on all of us. She was a true fighter who exceeded many developmental milestones and touched the hearts of everyone who knew her. Her strength, resilience, and spirit will never be forgotten.

Our entire Hooper family mourns alongside Sarah, Peter, and their loved ones during this difficult time. We are keeping them in our thoughts as they navigate this unimaginable loss and celebrate the beautiful life and legacy Aine leaves behind.
