0.08 is a number. Your situation has context.

Maryland’s DUI and DWI rules involve more than a single threshold. Mandeep S. Chhabra’s updated guide explains the numbers, the difference between DUI and DWI, and what a test result can mean. A BAC chart is educational, never a way to decide whether to drive.

Several small allegations can become one serious case.

In Maryland, thefts committed under one scheme or continuing course of conduct can be treated as one crime, with the values added together. Theft of $1,500 or more but less than $25,000 is a felony carrying up to five years, and thefts in different counties can be joined in one prosecution.

Every alleged transaction still has to be proven. How these cases are built, from Mandeep S. Chhabra:

On the B&A Trail, every e-bike class is held to 15 mph.

A Class 3 e-bike can assist to 28 mph and a Class 2 to 20, but on Anne Arundel County's paved trails the maximum is 15 mph. A lower posted limit still applies, and e-motos aren't allowed on the trail at all. Yield to pedestrians, keep right, and give an audible warning before passing on the left.

Someone uses self-checkout, misses an item, walks out of the store and nothing happens.

Then it happens again.

Months later, the person is charged—and learns that the retailer has video, transaction records, photographs, vehicle information and allegations involving several earlier visits.

That scenario is becoming increasingly important in Maryland theft cases.

Our latest article, by Mandeep S. Chhabra:
Skip Scanning in Maryland: Why “I Wasn’t Stopped” Doesn’t Mean You Got Away With It

It explains skip scanning, how retailers can build cases over time, Maryland's aggregation laws, Flock/license-plate-reader evidence and what happens when several relatively small allegations are put together.

That “e-bike” in the garage might legally be a motorcycle.

In Maryland, the motor decides, not the pedals. A legal e-bike needs fully operable pedals, two or three wheels, a motor rated at 750 watts or less, and it has to fit Class 1, 2 or 3. If it doesn't qualify, a teenage rider can be cited for license, registration and insurance violations, and a homeowners policy may not cover an accident.

Who pays for the experts?

A serious injury case can require tens of thousands of dollars in litigation expenses — physicians, engineers, economists, life care planners. Most injured clients can't fund that themselves. Mandeep Chhabra explains how it actually works, and why case expenses are separate from the attorney's fee.

§21-902(c). Maryland can charge you with DUI for a legally prescribed medication, even taken exactly as directed. The question isn't whether the drug was legal. It's whether the State can prove it made you unable to drive safely. Full breakdown on the blog: https://blog.cclaw.group/maryland-prescription-medication-dui/

Serious personal injury cases are not proved by medical bills alone.

Mandeep Chhabra wrote a candid piece on what building one actually takes: why treating doctors often won't testify, when an engineer or an economist is the difference, what a life care plan is for, and how litigation expenses work in a contingency-fee case.
