Your digital footprint matters more than you think.

Social media can reveal lifestyle, spending habits, relationships, and even parenting choices. These are all things that may be evaluated during divorce proceedings.

The takeaway? What feels like a quick post could have lasting consequences. When in doubt, pause before sharing—and lean on trusted legal counsel to help you navigate it all.

Divorce mediation can help couples resolve important issues outside of court — but preparation matters.

Before mediation begins, it’s important to discuss:
• Assets and debts
• Child custody and support
• Your non-negotiables
• Alimony expectations
• Property division

The more clarity you have going in, the smoother the process can be. A detailed plan today can help prevent conflict tomorrow.

If you’re considering separation or divorce, having the right guidance can make all the difference.

You may hear the term “imputed income” during divorce, especially when child support or spousal support is part of the conversation.

But what does it actually mean?

In simple terms, imputed income is when the court assigns an estimated earning capacity to someone who is unemployed or underemployed.

Why does that matter? Because support calculations are not always based only on what someone is currently earning. In some cases, the court may look at what a person could reasonably be earning based on factors like work history, education, skills, and available job opportunities.

This can play an important role in creating a fair child support or spousal support arrangement.

Have questions about imputed income or what support could look like in your divorce? Send us a message or schedule a free consultation. A Team Family Law is here to help you understand your options.

Prenups and postnups get a bad reputation.

A lot of people assume they mean, “We don’t trust each other,” or “We’re already planning for divorce.”

But in reality? These agreements can be an act of clarity, communication, and care.

Talking through finances, expectations, and what would happen if life changes doesn’t weaken your relationship. It can help both partners make decisions with more confidence and fewer unanswered questions.

And here’s the important part: getting information does not mean you’re locked into signing anything.

It simply means you understand your options.

If you’re considering a prenuptial or postnuptial agreement, schedule a free consultation so we can help you talk through what may make sense for you and your partner.
