I was born in the middle of one of Muhammad Ali's most significant boxing matches. My mom complained that the doctors kept leaving her room to watch the big fight.

A quarter of a century later, my boyfriend showed up significantly late to my birthday dinner. While spending some time visiting a mutual friend (the beloved, late Faizi Husain of "Hello Faz Pizza!") Muhammad Ali had dropped in to visit with Faz. My boyfriend said that he couldn't just leave, and I couldn't blame him.

Sooooo, that is why the following article by architecturaldigest.com caught my eye on this particular day. Not only does it include a picture of Muhhamad Ali with his young children in their Philadelphia home. It also includes the living spaces of Langston Hughes, James Baldwin, MLK Jr, Barack Obama, Toni Morrison (one of my top three favorite authors) and the amazing artist, Faith Ringgold --- among others.
