Yesterday’s closing was about so much more than buying a house.

Ann taught me that change can be scary, even when it is leading you somewhere better. Advocating for yourself, believing you deserve something different, and pushing toward a new beginning is a journey, and it is not always an easy one.

Ann spent 66 years on the same block. It was a place that taught her how to be tough, resilient, and strong. Now she is carrying that strength into a new home, one she is already turning into a safe, welcoming place for her grandchildren. She made this change for herself, but what she is building will reach far beyond her. She is giving the next generation access to something safer and better than what she had, while passing down the courage it took to get there.

Ann’s journey is not over, but yesterday she passed a very important first mile marker. Her story is proof that it is never too late to advocate for yourself, grow, and begin again.

I am incredibly grateful to Nigel Priester for helping Ann secure down payment assistance and for standing beside her every step of the way. This closing took patience, teamwork, and a genuine commitment to doing what was best for Ann.

It started as a **big housing bill**.

Then it became a **big yawn**.

And by the end of the conversation, we realized it might just be a spaghetti western town, looks impressive from the front, but walk around back and it’s two boards, a coat of paint, and a politician hoping nobody checks.

Today brought big industry news: Real announced a definitive agreement to acquire RE/MAX Holdings.

Our message to our agents and clients is simple:

The RE/MAX name remains.
The balloon remains.
Our offices remain.
Our agents remain.
Our service remains.

At RE/MAX Platinum, it is business as usual — with potential upside as more details become clear.
