This is a great article on mistakes most people make with estate planning. We saw an uptick in people seeking estate planning when the pandemic began but the need is still there for a proper plan for all families.

These attorneys have seen it all, and they want you to avoid these costly legal and financial problems for your family's sake.

Today was the annual ICLE Family Law conference. I had the honor of serving as a faculty for today’s session on evidence. This seminar is an amazing asset to attorneys from all over the State and it was great to be back in person.

This past weekend we had the ability to attend our first in person family law conference since the pandemic began. The event was hosted by the State Bar of Michigan Family Law Section.
The event was extremely well organized and keeps us at the forefront of legal issues in family law.
A few of my favorite topics were: being culturally competent for LGTBQ court users, business valuations during Covid and discussion on vaccine mandates in family law matters.
As a member of the family law section of the State Bar I was glad to be able stay up to date on these developing topics.

Good news for victims or domestic or sexual assault. The new law allows individuals and their children to shield their addresses from public record.

Michigan survivors of domestic and sexual violence and their families will have an added level of privacy through a confidentiality measure signed into law by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

We are seeing an uptick in families dealing with immense conflict due to the pandemic, changes in schedules, virtual school and fears about the future are causing more conflict than usual. This is a good article on how to handle arguments when children are present.

At some point, you'll argue in front of your little one. How you do it, and what you do after, makes a difference.
