Matt has been an integral member of Birch Horton Bittner & Cherot, bringing over 20 years of trial experience across Alaska to every client he's served, handling everything from complex litigation to HOA and municipal law with the same care and attention. Throughout his career, he’s prioritized giving back to Alaska's legal community, including chairing the Alaska Bar Association's Committee on Fair and Impartial Courts, serving as Treasurer of the Alaska Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and instructing with Anchorage Youth Court.

Hannah Clancy – Associate, focusing on municipal law, land use, and civil litigation. A Wyoming native and former collegiate ski racer, Hannah brings sharp instincts and fresh energy to our municipal practice group.

Richard Moses – Senior Counsel, handling complex civil litigation, appellate law, and regulatory matters across Alaska's courts. Richard has tried more than 30 cases to a jury and has called Alaska home since 2013.

Haley Wehrheim – Associate, practicing estate planning, probate, real estate, and business law. A lifelong Alaskan and Gonzaga Law grad, Haley spends her free time backcountry skiing and rock climbing with her dog, Leikur.

Boots in the sand, bags in hand!

On May 16, our own Richard Moses and Holly Wells, along with family and friends, spent the day cleaning up a stretch of Whittier's beach - clearing winter debris and hauling out several hundred pounds of old military-era metal left over from Whittier's Army days.

Small acts like this keep Alaska's coastline healthy for the next generation of hikers, paddlers, and visitors. Proud of our team for showing up!
