So many people in our community are in need, and things are only getting tougher. The Greater Amsterdam School District helps students and families with food assistance, which is needed now more than ever. I'll be collecting donations of food items to donate to the school district, through November 21, so I can deliver prior to the Thanksgiving break. Drop offs may be made to my law office at 207 Wallins Corners Road, Lower Level.

If you're able, these are the items that would be most useful are: canned chicken/tuna/beans/vegetables/fruit, dry beans, mayonnaise, tomato sauce, fruit cups, rice, pasta, beef sticks/jerky, canned chili, microwaveable meal cups (cup of noodles/mac and cheese, etc.), fruit snacks, granola bars, oatmeal, and salt/pepper/oil/spices. Small denomination gift cards to local grocery stores are always helpful too.
Also, inexpensive manual can openers are necessary for canned goods and not everyone has one, so those are helpful too.
For every item donated, I will personally purchase and donate a second item.
