🚨 Attention Texas Parents & Guardians

Important update under Texas Senate Bill 2794: Texas is now moving toward a “three-strikes” policy for interference with court-ordered child custody or visitation.

• The law expands responsibility so that either parent may be held accountable—no longer limited to only the non-custodial parent.
• First offence: classified as a Class C misdemeanor (fine up to $500) under the revised statute.
• However, if it’s proven the parent has two or more prior convictions for the same interference, or removed/persuaded the child to leave the State, then the offence becomes a state-jail felony.
• The bill takes effect September 1, 2025, and applies only to offences committed on or after that date.

If you’re involved in a custody or visitation order in Texas, this is a serious change. Make sure you’re following the terms of your court order—and if the other parent is interfering with your rightful time or the order, document everything and consult your attorney.
