Tracy Jo Olivarez was my assistant and paralegal from 1998 until her passing in 2023. My clients and coworkers were all blessed and privileged to have known and worked with Tracy, and especially me. She was one of the finest human beings I have ever known, and certainly one of those most hardworking and steadfast, dedicated to our clients.
To honor Tracy and her legacy of loyalty, hard work, compassion, and care, I have established an endowed fund in Tracy’s name at the Harrington Cancer and Health Foundation. As an endowment, the earnings on the endowment balance (up to a maximum percentage) will be paid out annually to provide financial assistance to ladies going through breast cancer treatment in the Texas Panhandle. The larger the endowment grows, the more money can be paid out for assistance.
I hope you will join me in honoring Tracy and growing her legacy by making tax deductible donations to the Tracy Jo Olivarez Fund in care of the Harrington Cancer and Health Foundation. I also hope you will help me spread the word about this fund and encourage others to donate.
Every year, there will be additional gifting and fundraising opportunities. For example, the TJO Fund will be an annual sponsor of the “Our Colors Run Together 5K.” https://hchfamarillo.org/our-colors-run-together/ All of the "Our Colors" funds stay in the Texas Panhandle. We can continue to run and walk for Tracy and all the ladies who are beneficiaries of her endowed fund. I hope to see you there next fall.

Our associate, Hannah Rivera, is busy in the office and out in the Amarillo community! Way to go Hannah!

Some people step into The Hope & Healing Place for the first time as participants after losing a significant person in their life. Others, like Hannah Rivera, step in as volunteers and never forget what they’ve seen.

About 10 years ago, Hannah was a group facilitator, walking alongside families in their grief. Now, she’s joining our Board, bringing that same heart for healing and a passion for making sure more people in Amarillo know about the work we do here.

“I am very fortunate that I have not felt the direct impact of sudden and traumatic loss, but I have seen what Hope and Healing Place can do for those that go through the program. I hope that I can contribute a thing or two that could positively impact those who have to participate.”

Welcome, Hannah! We’re so grateful for your heart, your leadership, and your belief in the work we do.

Our very own Joe Lovell was an integral part of the creation of the Kathy Ryan Rural Fire & Rescue Fund. Joe represented Kathy Ryan's family following the April 2006 panhandle fires.

Here at Make Right Law, we strive to not only provide strong legal representation for wildfire survivors, but also to enact change that can be carried forward to help future wildfire survivors.

Kathy Ryan lost her life in the fires of 2006, and her family created a fund to help rural fire departments with equipment and training. Given the current wildfire outbreak, the family has awarded these grants to help the departments as they battle these historic wildfires.
