🏡 Fulton County homeowners!
property tax update!
You may have seen headlines about a proposed property tax increase in Fulton County, but here’s what that actually means:
Fulton County is proposing to keep its General Fund millage rate at 8.87 mills. Because property values have increased, keeping that same rate instead of adopting the lower rollback rate is officially considered a 0.54% tax increase.
👉 That does not mean every homeowner’s total property tax bill will automatically increase by 0.54%.
Your actual bill depends on your property’s assessed value, exemptions, and the different taxing authorities that apply to your home.
7️⃣The county is scheduled to hold its final hearing and vote on the millage rate on October 7.
This is a good reminder that as home values change, property taxes can change too, even when the millage rate stays the same.
As always, I’ll keep an eye on local changes that affect homeowners in North Atlanta. 🏡
