This year, Gross McGinley was honored to support PBS39 at its Be My Neighbor Day, a celebration of kindness, learning, and community. As part of the Lehigh Valley Volunteer Challenge, we mobilized volunteers for both the preparation and ex*****on of the event, helping local families with young children enjoy a welcoming, engaging day focused on what makes a caring home.

In the days leading up to Be My Neighbor Day, our volunteers assembled 600 take-home bags for children, thoughtfully packing materials that encouraged learning, creativity, and neighborly connection. On event day, volunteers staffed multiple timed sessions to maintain a smooth flow as families took photos with Daniel Tiger, built birdhouses and bug hotels, listened to story times centered on home, decorated kindness cards, and rode the Easton Trolley around the Steel Stacks. From sponsoring and staffing the birdhouse station to engaging directly with children and caregivers, our coordinated effort reflected the heart of Gross McGinley: neighbors committed to building a kinder, more connected community, one family at a time.
