Some buyers are turning to adjustable-rate mortgages, which typically offer a lower initial rate for a set period, such as five or 10 years, in exchange for the possibility of future rate adjustments. The share of applications for ARMs jumped to nearly 10% last week as the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage rose above 7%, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association....."

As mortgage rates climb above 7%, some home buyers are still finding ways to lower their upfront borrowing costs.
