It is with great sadness that we wanted to announce the passing of our close friend and colleague, Melanie Scholer. Melanie was a long time friend and coworker. She was a world traveler and an extremely hard worker with a huge heart who made a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. Melanie loved her family and friends, her many pets, and passionately worked for for the best interests of our clients. She will be missed, but can never be replaced.

We here at German Burnette are excited to announce the hiring of our two new associates!

Josh Baca is a 2020 graduate of the University of New Mexico School of Law, where he was an active Honor Roll student. He received dual degrees in Psychology and Justice Studies from Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah in 2013. While studying at Westminster, Josh maintained a high GPA and was on the Dean's List while also playing college soccer there. Between college and law school, Josh was a Federal Account Manager for Hewlett Packer. During law school he worked with GB&A as a law clerk, providing high level research and writing assistance for our clients. Josh is an avid soccer fan and outdoor enthusiast.

Madison is a 2020 graduate of the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. She received her undergraduate degree in English from BYU cm laude with University Honors in 2017. Madison is very well traveled, spending time in both Ghana and Russia. She also has an extensive legal background. Prior to joining GB&A, Madison clerked as an extern for the Utah State Supreme Court, and worked for both the Wikipedia Foundation in San Francisco, California and the International Center for Law and Religious Studies in Provo, Utah as a research/legal fellow. When not working she enjoys spending time with her family and seeing Van Gogh art in person.

This is a great cause our office participates in every year in memory of one of the most wonderful people I have ever had the pleasure to know. We all miss Carol-her smile, kind heart and easy going sense of humor were one of a kind.

If you and/or your kids are looking to get outside and exercise at the end of the month, considering signing up for Polly's Run. A truly great cause! You have to run or walk on your own this year, but still a great excuse to get out.

These are trying times, and we are happy to be fortunate enough to give back to the community. We made a firm donation to the East Mtn Food pantry and encourage everyone who is able to help those in need during this time.
