I was so happy to see this beautiful naturalization ceremony at the New Mexico United game on Saturday. Congratulations to all of our newest U.S. citizens!

Fifty people became U.S. citizens at a New Mexico United game over the weekend, including a United player, Mike Azira, originally from Uganda. Those naturalized as U.S. citizens are from 25 different countries.

Good news today - a judge has blocked the Administration’s so-called “Death to Asylum” regulations, which would have made qualifying for asylum even more difficult.

The policy, set to take effect next week, would have closed the doors of the United States to most asylum seekers.

The fees that the government charges to apply for immigration benefits are going up, with some applications becoming much more expensive. Applicants must apply before October 2 if they want to be able to avoid these fee increases.

The Trump administration is dramatically increasing fees for dozens of immigration and work applications, including a more than 80 percent increase on naturalization applications and a first-time fee for asylum applicants.

If you are here on a student visa and your school shifts to virtual learning because of COVID-19, the Republican Administration says that you must leave the country.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced Monday that international students in the U.S. whose schools switch to online classes for the fall semester will have to leave the country or risk violating their visa status.

The Supreme Court has ruled that the Trump administration's decision to end DACA was unlawful. We expect USCIS to start accepting applications for new DACA applicants and advanced parole applications for those who have been granted DACA.

The decision is a dramatic victory for immigration advocates and gives a new lease on life for the so-called DREAMers, immigrants who were brought to the U.S. illegally as children.

“With the country facing a long and difficult struggle to emerge from the economic downturn, this is not the time to impose additional restrictions that would reduce the number of skilled, innovative workers in the United States.”

New research from the National Foundation for American Policy (NFAP) found that H-1B visa holders don’t have a negative impact on U.S. workers.
