My law firm successfully challenged the City's denial of a Watertown Firefighter's claim for NYS General Municipal Law Section 207-a benefits based on aggravation of his post-traumatic stress disorder ("PTSD") and depression brought on by traumatic events he witnessed during his job as a City firefighter. Although this was merely a hearing officer's recommendation, it is significant support for the NYS Firefighters' Association's battle to secure a legislative presumption of on-the-job injury for firefighters diagnosed with PTSD.
