Important Update: LASNNY Plattsburgh Office

Beginning October 14, our Plattsburgh office at 100 Court Street will be temporarily closed for renovations. We do not yet have an anticipated reopening date.

Legal services will continue to be available at our satellite location at 194 US Oval, Suite 225 in Plattsburgh.

In recognition and celebration of Indigenous Peoples’ Day, all LASNNY offices are closed today. We take this day to honor our relationship with the Akwesasne community. We are proud to serve the St. Regis Mohawk Reservation, which is part of our service area, and we thank you for your trust.

Our offices will reopen with normal business hours on Tuesday, October 13.

Great night at the Legal Aid Society of NENY's 2026 Justice for All Awards Celebration! ⚖️

The evening holds a special connection for our team. Each year, LASNNY presents the William E. (Bill) Byron Equal Justice Award, named for the late father of Sue Towne. At Governor Nelson Rockefeller's request, Bill served as LASNNYs Board President, and he remains the only non-attorney to hold that role since the organizations founding in 1923.

Congratulations to Adam Wilson, this year's Byron Award recipient, and to all of the 2026 honorees. Thank you to LASNNY for the work they do every day to expand access to civil legal help across Northeastern New York. 💙

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Justice for All Awards on Wednesday! It was a wonderful evening filled with good food, powerful music, and meaningful conversations about food justice and the work we can do together to strengthen our communities.

Our keynote speaker, Taina Asili, shared powerful insights on food and racial justice, the seeds we plant and the impact they can have today and for generations to come. She also treated us to two incredible musical performances, including a song connecting her to her roots in Puerto Rico.

At LASNNY, our work is grounded in fairness, dignity and justice. This year’s theme, Rooted in Justice, was a reminder of the connections between access to food, housing, safety, legal support, and the stability we all need to thrive.

We are grateful to everyone who attended, sponsored, volunteered, or otherwise supported this year’s celebration. Thank you for standing with LASNNY and helping us advance access to justice across Northeastern New York.
